Numbers

NOTE TO TUTORS AND COMMUNITY HELPERS:
     If the new friend you are helping is from China, a south Asian country, or an Arabic speaking country, there is a good possibility that the figures representing our numbers are new to them.  In China, for instance, there are even different ways you use your fingers to represent 1, 2, 3, etc.!
     One of the first skills you can help with is teaching the following basic numbers. Be sure the way in which you teach this is fun and creative so as not to appear (unwittingly) condescending or humiliating.
